Portraits, objects and brand work in Helsinki
I'm not trying to make you look like everyone else. I make pictures that are a little strange and hard to stop looking at. Ones that tell a story.
If what you need is a clean product shot on a white background, I'm probably not your person, but I'll happily point you to someone who is. If you want the picture to tell a story, that's what I'm for. Either way, you'll know what we're making before anything is shot.
You are not the product in the frame. You are part of the story the frame is built around.
This is not only about looking good on the day. The work starts with the world around the subject and builds that first, and everything else follows from it. It goes the same way whether the subject is a person, a bottle, or a room.

One subject and one idea, taken as far as it will go. That might be a person, a few objects on a table, or a room with nobody in it.
The smallest thing I do. We talk, we land on a mood, and you know what we're going for before the day instead of hoping. And if you hate being photographed, say so in the first message. Most people do. It changes how I shoot.

For when one scene can't hold all of it. We flesh out an idea across a sequence: who is in it, what they wear, where it happens, and the order it should be in.
Most of the work happens before the camera comes out. It means I will sometimes see it differently, and say why. The decision stays yours.

The pictures, and the world they come out of. Sets built for the shoot, objects made or sourced for it, and the order the whole thing goes out in.
If you have an idea, I come in on the art direction and the build. Anything that needs a specialist gets one: a fabricator, a stylist, a perfumer, brought in and briefed. Those costs sit separately in the quote so you can see what is mine and what is theirs. It is also the one to be careful with, so if a smaller commission would do the same job I would rather say that early than take the bigger booking.

You tell me what it's for. If you already have a brief, send it and I will work to it. If you don't, I ask questions until we have one.
Before anything is shot you get it on paper: the idea, the references, the mood. A moodboard for something simple, a full page for something bigger. If you've worked with photographers before, it's a treatment. You react to it, and we refine it until it's right.
Finished images within a week for a scene. Anything bigger gets a delivery date in the plan, agreed before we start rather than worked out afterwards. You get the selects, edited, rather than a folder of near-identical frames to sort through yourself. Usage is written in plain language and quoted with the job, not after it.
